ANC Says No To ANC

Well here’s a bit of evidence against the ‘win at all costs’ mentality people believe the ANC has. The ANC provincial government has rejected calls from Cape Town council ANC members to place the council under provincial administration. If such a decision had been made I doubt it would have survived a challenge in the courts.

That being said the decision means that the ANC has alsmost exhausted all means of trying to regain control of the council and ANC councillors can do little more than hope that the DA led coalition falls apart by itself.

Oops. I’ve noticed this problem keeps on popping up. Geordin do you have JavaScript enabled? I think the blog software uses that to update the page with your comment rather than refresh the entire page. If you see the little spinner appear and disappear and your comment has not dispalayed just refresh the page and it should be there.

Hi Geordin – when your browser says ‘Do you really want to resubmit POSTDATA?’, it’s probably better to say ‘No’!

My understanding of the legislation (although limited), is that if an administrator was appointed, an election would have to be called. If that were to be the case, the ANC knows it would probably result in an ouright DA victory- based on the ID’s actions since the election and the ANC being hellbent on usurping democracy. So Dyanti’s decision was probably tactical after all…
